Kate Maruyama's is the author of Harrowgate (47North, 2013), Halloween Beyond: A Gentleman's Suit (Crystal Lake, 2022) and her duo of novellas, Bleak Houses which will be out August 3 from Raw Dog Screaming Press. Her novella Family Solstice, (Omnium Gatherum, 2021) was named Best Fiction Book of 2021 by Rue Morgue Magazine. Her novel The Collective is upcoming from Writ Large and Alterations from Running Wild Press.. Her short work has appeared in Asimovs, Analog, and numerous anthologies and her recent short, "Jacaranda Park" was awarded Uncharted Short Story Prize. She curates and edits the column, "The Horror" for Cultural Daily. Maruyama has served as a juror on the Bram Stoker Awards and twice for the Shirley Jackson Awards as well as serving on the HWA's Diverse Works Inclusion Committee and is on the board for Women Who Submit an organization that works toward gender parity in publishing. She writes, teaches, cooks, and eats in Los Angeles where she lives.
