Andrea Kriz is a PhD in Biological and Biomedical Sciences, currently doing postdoctoral research in human brain genetics at Boston Children's Hospital, and a science fiction author. Her short stories are upcoming in Reactor and have appeared in Clarkesworld, Lightspeed, Asimov's Science Fiction and have been translated into French in Galaxies SF. Her short story collection Learning To Hate Yourself As A Self-Defense Mechanism (Interstellar Flight Press, 2024) includes "There Are No Hot Topics On Whukai" and "Communist Computer Rap God". Her recent work includes the upcoming short story, "My/Our Time in the AmericaX Re-Education Camp" (Reactor, 2027) and "Update on Rules for the Spatiotemporal Use of Campus Spaces" (Lightspeed, April 2026). She is also a graduate of the Your Personal Odyssey workshop and a participant in the Dartmouth Speculative Fiction Project, a collaboration between authors and Dartmouth faculty to create an anthology of short fiction exploring the future of humanity.
