David DeGraff is an astronomer and science fiction writer at Alfred University, in Alfred NY. In addition to the usual Physics and Astronomy classes, he also teaches (or co-teaches) unusual classes like Science in Science Fiction; Life in the Universe; Aliens and Alienation; The Physics of Snowboarding; The Doctor in the Police Box; Muggles, Magic and Mayhem; Tribbles, Tricorders and Transporters; The Science and Psychology of Superheroes; and A Beginners Guide to World Domination. That last class was too successful and will never be taught again.

"Above the Pole" appeared in Julie Czerneda's Polaris Anthology, and "SIREN of Titan" is in Carbide Tipped Pens, edited by Ben Bova and Eric Choi. He also has an essay in Boarding the Enterprise, edited by David Gerrold and Robert J. Sawyer. He is currently working on a novel set in the world of “SIREN of Titan.” He attended Viable Paradise XXI (2017) and Taos Toolbox in 2018.
