Judith Berman's fiction, which has appeared in Asimov's, Black Gate, Interzone, Realms of Fantasy, and Lightspeed Magazine, has beenshort-listed for the Nebula Award, the Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award, and the IAFA William L. Crawford Fantasy Award. Her essay "Science Fiction Without the Future" received the Science Fiction Research Association's Pioneer Award, while her novel Bear Daughter (Ace, 2005) was praised in a Booklist starred review as "utterly absorbing, unforgettable… truly original and unique." She is currently living in Victoria, BC.
